Members of the French Club had a wonderful day on Saturday visiting both the MFA and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museums. French III reads a novel, Derrière les montagnes (Behind the Mountains) in which a Haitian family relocates to New York to start a new life. The author, Edwidge Danticat, spent a month at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum while writing her novel. We visited the “blue” and “yellow” rooms in which visiting artists stay. We then walked to Copley Plaza to enjoy a generous variety of delicacies at Au Bon Pain after which we stood in line for over a half hour to indulge in <<ganache / fondant>> cupcakes at the Georgetown Cupcakes. What an engaging and invigorating way to culminate National Foreign Language Week!!
