BHS Celebrates NFLW – Day 1

After a very exciting Monday morning breakfast, the halls have been buzzing with the sounds of foreign languages being spoken as FRENCH day comes to an end on the first day of National Foreign Language Week at Burlington High School.

During first period, all Foreign Language classes arrived to the cafeteria with authentic Italian, French, Spanish/Hispanic, and Latin dishes ranging from tortilla española to tiramisu to paín au fruit to grapes and cheeses.  Students were encouraged to taste the various foods and drinks prepared by their peers as they completed an written activity in the target language describing their favorite international foods.

Stay tuned for another exciting day of Foreign Language Week as we celebrate ITALIAN day tomorrow.  All Foreign Language clubs will participate in a Foreign Language volleyball tournament after school in the BHS wooden gym.
