Last week, Mrs. Dacey’s AP Spanish class traveled to Burlington’s Sprouts preschool classroom to share their Spanish knowledge with the little ones. The BHS Foreign Language department recognizes the variety of languages that are represented amongst students and faculty. To celebrate National Foreign Language Week, we wanted to highlight various languages that are spoken by the members of the BHS community. BHS celebrated the last day of National Foreign Language Week with a second day of the “cake wars”. The Italian students competed against the Latin students in the cake off event. Italian students, Kerri, Rita, and Danielle won with their two-layered cake with a soccer ball on top! Check out the photos from today’s event:

Signora Hoerle’s Italian IV Honors students welcomed special guests this week who taught them how to make mozzarella. One of Signora Hoerle’s Italian student’s mother and grandfather visited her class to teach students the art of preparing fresh mozzarella.
The BHS Foreign Language Department continued National Foreign Language Week celebrating ITALIAN day with a Foreign Language Volleyball tournament after school. This year, the Italian Club won, beating the French Club. The Spanish Club came in last place this year, losing to the Latin Club in the runners up match.
