BHS Latin teacher, Mr. Stringer, created a new elective course for BHS juniors and seniors. Classical Roots of Western Civilization is a semester-long interdisciplinary elective that offers students an opportunity to explore two of the Western world’s most influential societies, Greece and Rome, and their languages. The BHS Foreign Language Department is thrilled to announce that Sruti Pandey, Madame Price’s French III Honors student, is the First Place winner of the 2014 MaFLA Essay Contest. Sruti wrote a phenomenal essay on “Multilingualism” this past winter. Madame Price submitted Sruti’s essay in February and recently learned that Sruti won the $50 1st place award.
