This month, the Spanish Club hosted their annual food drive for the YWCA Fina House in Lawrence, MA. They filled 21 boxes of food, including cereal, pasta, spices, baking items, juices, soup, and canned vegetables. On Thursday, December 12th, students delivered the food donations to Fina House. At the site, they learned about the program that assists homeless women, including teenage mothers and their children. Because of the students’ fundraising efforts, there are homeless women that will be provided with food during the winter months this year. The Spanish Club wishes to thank the Italian and French clubs as well as Ms. DeSousa and Mrs. Dacey’s Spanish classes for supporting the food drive this year.
After the trip to Fina House, Spanish Club students enjoyed lunch at Ixtapa Mexican restaurant in Woburn. In addition, they enjoyed practicing their Spanish speaking skills with the restaurant owner and wait staff.
