BHS Celebrates National Foreign Language Week: March 4-8, 2013

At BHS we recognize National Foreign Language Week and encourage our students to participate in various school-wide activities presented throughout the week by Foreign Language teachers and clubs.

BHS’s Foreign Language week kicks off with a breakfast buffet in the cafeteria during first period next Monday.   All first period Spanish, Latin, French, and Italian classes will prepare a breakfast dish from a specific region where the language is spoken.  We expect some delicious dishes from Italy, France, Latin America, and Spain prepared by the students and Foreign Language teachers!

In addition, BHS language teachers have coordinated special activities including:
1) a French dance presentation at a community senior citizens home
2) authentic music played throughout the morning in various languages
3) a toga party hosted by the Latin club
4) cake-off event featuring specially designed cakes that represent a cultural topic from the language class prepared by our students

The Official Theme for the year 2013 is:

 “Foreign Languages: They Nourish the Brain!

NFLW will be celebrated   March 4 – 10, 2013
